"Formula 1 is excited to reveal F1 75 Live's headline performers, with
the historic launch event taking place on Tuesday, February 18.

The show will be hosted by comedian and actor Jack Whitehall, and will
feature US country sensation Kane Brown, award-winning multi-platinum
recording artist mgk, composer Brian Tyler’s Are We Dreaming, and the
iconic British band Take That."

Well that looks to be very cheesy.

You've put this politely :)
F1 should be global, so performers should be known globally as well,
isn't it?
Who TF are Kane Brown, mgk, Brian Tyler? Take That was a kind of
popular among teenagers many years ago.

WTF F1?!

WTF F1?!
So, I had to look up some of these...

* Jack Whitehall is quite well known, and has made something of an
international breakthrough with his Comedy Central show. Not very
well known outside the UK, but not unknown.
* Kane Brown is clearly an attempt to play to the US audience, but has a
wide following with younger audiences worldwide (never heard of him).
* Brian Tyler is quite a successful composer, mainly film, TV and
video games. The link to F1 is that he wrote the F1 theme (no, not The
Chain - the one from the official intros) as well as for Esports. Yes,
I had to look all that up.
* Take That...well, they are very popular in Europe and Asia still, even
though they never really made it in the US.

So, it's not a terrible line-up for an international launch...but it's
not exactly exciting. I *hope* they're just minor bits of filler with
the focus on the teams, cars and drivers.

I didn't know this. OK.

I know that they were popular, but didn't know they are STILL popular.
Not my cup of tea. :)

It is obvious that F1 want to adjust to American market.

Since I am almost 60, my music preferences are different (more jazz,
rock and blues). But, obviously I'm not in the main target group.

At least there is no hip-hop, rap and similar on the list. :)

It feels like an odd mix. If it's just a bit of background, it makes
sense. A bit for existing audience but a push towards the US market.
That said, the timing isn't ideal for the US or Asia, just Europe,
really.

Yes, it is an odd mix. But nevermind.

I'm in Europe, so timing is fine by me.
But, frankly, I'm not interested in the music show itself. :)

We're going to watch it this evening. I'm sure that there will be plenty
of moments that'll make me cringe but at least I'll be able to skip
through the musical acts.

I cannot wait for testing to start!

Well that was... something. Mixed feelings on it. Some of the
presentations were definitely for a different age group but I thought
that the Williams, Ferrari, Mclaren, and Mercedes ones were well done.
The main presenter did a good job too, I felt.

Sure felt like the Red Bull presentation ended early?? I wonder why they
didn't have any of the presenters interacting with them.

I got a kick out of the crowd booing the FIA but I didn't think it was
very classy that they booed Horner (and I say that as someone who isn't
a Horner fan).
