Mark, your "tag" line is excellent.
US chap settled (and appreciative)in Denmark, tol me he visited an uncle in Florida who had lived in pain and without rehab for many years from a severe arm injury. My contact unwisely mentioned to him that, in Denmark, the he would have received immediate surgery and rehab without charge, and the old man yelled at him furiously that he would "rather live in pain than accept Socialist medicine!"

I now fear this ancient attitude might be revived and perpetuated :-(
