Another helpful on-screen graphic listed the previous holders
of the record.

G Farina 1 1950
JM Fangio 8 1950-53
A Ascari 14 1953-54
JM Fangio 29 1954-67
J Clark 33 1967-89
A Senna 65 1989-2006
M Schumacher 68 2006-17
L Hamilton 69 2017-

That is a simplified list since it doesn't deal with the times that
the record was jointly held.

1. Farina's record (1) was equalled by JM Fangio, 21/05/50 (MON),
and by W Faulkner, 30/05/50 (Indy).

2. Fangio's record (2) was equalled by G Farina, 18/06/50 (BEL).
Fangio reclaimed the record again (3), 02/07/50 (FRA), then
extended it to 8, 11/09/51 (ITA), equalled by A Ascari, 17/01/53 (ARG).

3. Ascari's record (14) was equalled by JM Fangio, 31/07/54 (GER).

4. Fangio's record (29) was equalled by J Clark, 05/08/67 (GER).

5. Clark's record (33) was equalled by A Senna, 27/05/89 (MEX).

6. Senna's record (65) was equalled by M Schumacher, 11/03/06 (BHR).

7. Schumacher's record (68) was equalled by L Hamilton, 26/08/17 (BEL).

Events where record was set/taken:

1. GBR 12/05/50 G Farina 1
2. SUI 04/06/50 JM Fangio 2-8
3. NED 06/06/53 A Ascari 9-14
4. ITA 04/09/54 JM Fangio 15-29
5. CDN 26/08/67 J Clark 39-33
6. USA 03/06/89 A Senna 34-65
7. RSM 22/04/06 M Schumacher 66-68
8. ITA 02/09/17 L Hamilton 69

Clark held the record longest - Aug 67 to Jun 89 (~22 years)
Senna - Jun 89 - Apr 06 (~17 yrs)
Fangio (2 spells) - Jun 50 to Jun 53 (3 yrs) & Sep 54 to Aug 67
(~13 yrs). ~16 in total
Schumacher - Apr 06 to Sep 17 (over 11 yrs)
Ascari - Jun 53 to Sep 54 (~15 months)
Farina - 23 days
